The neighbors calling into the Love INC Clearinghouse have so many needs. Moms are calling looking for help with clothing for their children. Veterans are seeking help getting a comfy bed. Some people call simply looking for prayer or to get connected to a church home.
As volunteers from our churches learn more about our neighbor’s situation during the intake conversation, they ask “What is your greatest area of concern, when it comes to your needs?”. Answers range from personal safety to physical needs. And every once in a while God ministers to us through our neighbors…
Recently, Mr. D. was an amazing witness to us. When asked what his greatest need was at this time, with a chuckle he said “It says in the Bible, ‘Be anxious for nothing’. I have no needs, but a bed would be great”. What a great reminder!
Each day at Love INC, volunteers from our churches hear the needs of those in our community. And their needs become the needs of our churches. We pray for God to bring kitchen chairs, new pillows, loving people to serve, and more through our doors as our churches serve in His name. And we rest in the peace of God’s promise to care for us as we strive to ‘be anxious for nothing”.
Connection starts with a phone call — Volunteers prepare gifts of ‘stuff’ — Churches deliver these gifts, with the Love of Christ
